Day Job:
As a Clery Compliance Specialist at Auburn University, my job largely consists of collaborating with various offices at the University to ensure Auburn’s compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (The Clery Act). Typically, my day includes gathering crime and disciplinary referral data from numerous internal and external sources, and collaborating with the Auburn Police Division to ensure appropriate reporting and classification of crimes. My specific focus areas are crime report classification, compilation of statistics, updating and maintaining the daily crime log, and recordkeeping.
Favorite Auburn Experience:
I have so many treasured Auburn experiences that it’s difficult to pick one favorite. However, I have one memory that comes to mind, and that was my very first football game. When you’re a kid you usually just pull for whatever team your parents pull for. So my whole childhood I was an “Auburn fan” because that’s what I was told I was. However, on this particular day I was able to make that decision for myself. I couldn’t have been more than 10 years old when my Mom took me to watch the Tigers play. I remember everything about it. It was a cool October day; just the way a Fall football game should feel. It was an Auburn-Tennessee matchup, and while I’m pretty sure we lost, it was the first time I had ever seen a band that big; the first time I ever heard the crowd sing Auburn’s fight song; the first time that I had ever been in an environment that felt that electric, and that was the first time that I knew I was truly an Auburn fan.
Now that I live in Auburn and work for the University I’ve really learned what it means to be a part of the Auburn family. I love that my husband and I get to experience the community, the campus, and the sporting events on a daily basis. We’re both so excited to start a family and continue making more favorite memories in The Loveliest Village on the Plains.
Interests:
I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two golden retrievers. Our summer weekends are usually spent on Lake Martin with them and our families. My husband and I are also big DIYers, and really take joy in designing and building fun pieces for our home. Other than that, you can usually catch me gardening, cooking, reading, hanging out on the patio watching sports, or binging a new Netflix series after our pups and projects have worn me out.
